history of
East side presbyterian
The East Side Presbyterian Church in Fremont, Ohio, originated from the First Presbyterian Church, which was founded in 1833 and was the first Presbyterian congregation in the area. As the First Presbyterian church grew, it began establishing Sunday Schools in different neighborhoods to serve the expanding population. One of these Sunday Schools was located on the east side of the river, which was the origin of the current East Side Presbyterian Church congregation. The Ballville Presbyterian Chapel was chartered in 1948 as an extension of the East Side Church.
